Compliance and Risk Manager
Matthew works closely with the Commercial, Project Management, and Business Development teams to ensure that Scale’s operations meet regulatory and compliance requirements. In doing so, he adheres to best practices in risk management, and promotes a culture of compliance and risk awareness. He brings over 18 years of multifaceted experience and a passion for improving the natural and built world.Prior to joining Scale, Matthew was a Director of Licensing and Compliance at Eagle Creek Renewable Energy. He was responsible for maintaining compliance with local, state, and federal regulatory matters at over 30 hydroelectric power projects representing 120 MW of generation, including 6 projects undergoing FERC Relicensing. Matthew managed complex risk profiles to optimize power generation by working with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders at the intersection of natural resource impacts, project operations, and project finances. His earlier career focused on providing strategic solutions to Fortune 100 clients in the environmental consulting industry. Matthew earned a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies and Sociology with a Philosophy minor from Bucknell University.
