Kristel Watson

Kristel is the Chief Commercial Officer and General Counsel at Scale Microgrids, where she drives the company’s commercial strategy, legal operations, and risk management framework. With a unique blend of legal expertise and business acumen, Kristel shapes Scale’s market expansion and product innovation, accelerating the deployment of cutting-edge energy solutions.

Prior to Scale, Kristel was a leader in energy development and financing at Centrica Business Solutions, where she served as Director of Project Development. She spearheaded high-performing teams that developed and acquired distributed energy resources across North America, structuring and negotiating complex transactions while delivering innovative financing solutions for challenging projects. Her contributions to the sector earned her recognition as one of the Top 100 Women in Greentech in 2024.

Kristel holds a Juris Doctor, cum laude, from American University’s Washington College of Law. She also earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance and a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish, with a minor in Mathematics, from Southern Methodist University.
