Diane Artal

Legal Director

As Legal Director, Diane leverages her 15+ years of combined law firm and in-house experience to provide a wide range of legal and strategic advice in complex commercial matters and distributed energy resources transactions. Before joining Scale, Diane founded her own law firm focusing on private equity and startups in the fields of sustainability and clean technology. Through the U.S. Purpose Foundation, she also co-founded Good Energy, to enable communities to finance and develop neighborhood-scale solar microgrids. Prior to that, Diane served as Associate General Counsel for Sequa Corporation and Deputy General Counsel for Precoat Metals Corp. in the aerospace and energy industry. She holds a J.D. equivalent and Master of Laws from the University of Geneva in Switzerland, and a LL.M. in Intellectual Property Law from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in New York.
