California’s Public Safety Power Shut off (PSPS) program enables major utilities to turn off power during high-risk weather in order to avoid fire ignitions.
While necessary for safety, these shutdowns are detrimental to businesses. Year after year, the number of planned PSPS events throughout the state drastically increases.
Expect 5 to 10 PSPS events per year. Each event lasts 2 to 5 days.
